Job Description
The Royal is seeking a skilled and dependable Prep Cook with baking experience to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, desserts, and prepared ingredients that support our all-day café, brunch, lunch, dinner, and bar programs.

Responsibilities
Baking & Pastry Production
- Prepare and bake pastries, breads, cookies, cakes, desserts, and specialty menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the production of daily baked goods for café, brunch, and dinner service.
- Ensure consistency in quality, presentation, and portioning.
- Monitor product freshness and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Assist with seasonal menu development and special event offerings.
Food Preparation
- Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping, slicing, portioning, marinating, and assembling recipes.
- Follow prep lists and production schedules to ensure kitchen readiness.
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store all products.
- Maintain high standards for food quality and presentation.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Support line cooks and chefs during service as needed.
- Help minimize waste through proper storage, production, and utilization practices.

- At least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, pastry shop, café, or restaurant.
- Experience preparing baked goods in a commercial setting.
- Ability to accurately follow recipes and production schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability for early morning, weekend, holiday, and special event shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred
- Experience in a scratch kitchen, bakery, or café environment.
- Knowledge of bread production, pastry techniques, and dessert preparation.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Interest in Latin American cuisine, specialty coffee, and seasonal cooking.
